After Hurricane Helene’s coastal flooding hit Pasco County, the District’s response team was mobilized to assist in critical emergency operations. From debris removal to supporting search and rescue missions in high-water areas, our team worked alongside Pasco County and the state EOC to ensure the safety and well-being of local residents. Equipped with specialized watercraft, including John boats, an airboat, and Unimogs, District staff from various departments—Water Quality, Vegetation Management, Field Operations and Land Management—came together for this vital mutual aid mission. Collaboration across state and local levels is essential during these intense storm events, allowing us to leverage resources and support our communities in times of need.
