Resident Evil 4 Remake Demo - Mad Chainsaw Walkthrough
Twitch Highlight - This is from the Resident Evil 4 Remake Chainsaw Demo that was released on March 9th, 2023. This isn't a typical playthrough of the demo though. There is a special hard difficulty called, "Mad Chainsaw Mode."
Apparently, the criteria for unlocking it involves "getting lucky" when you click on New Game in the Main Menu. I've heard that you should reset your game after you get it one time, but I managed to get it 3 times in a row during the same session as I was still learning the difficulty. It's silly and I wasn't a fan of having to get lucky to play it, but it is what it is.
In any case, Mad Chainsaw Mode is a significantly tougher version of the Standard demo. From what I could gather:
Enemy counts are higher in certain spots
Enemies have much higher health
Enemies are much more difficult to stagger
Enemies grabs/hits do significantly more damage
Enemies will turn into the plagas form much more often after you do enough damage
And you get a much faster and higher health version of the Chainsaw Man - You'll see what I mean when the cutscene plays
I believe the only way to finish this is to take down the Chainsaw Man, but you should take that with a grain of salt as I'm not 100% sure. I attempted to time out the section in early attempts, but I had no luck.
My final strategy was simple though. Ignore all fights when possible, focus all firepower on Ultra Super Mega Chainsaw Man, and run like hell. I took quite a bit of unnecessary damage due to silly grabs/hits, but hey, a win is a win.
