In this flip through of the finished journal I show you every page, tag, pocket, embellishment and extra goodies.
I didn't keep track very well but know that I gave over 40 hours to the creation of this journal plus all the time of creating the videos and presenting them.
This journal is chunky and FULL of writing goodness. I made tutorials for almost everything in it, which you can watch via the Playlist.
I put a lot of myself into it to make it interesting and inspiring with stencils, rubber stamps, words, numbers, and playful elements everywhere.
My idea was for it to be a masculine-theme, or feeling, artistic writing journal without any frilly stuff like lace or flowers. The cover is vinyl and very sturdy. The signatures are hand-sewn in with bookbinding cord that I extended to create attached bookmarks.
The whole creation is coordinated to create a harmonious whole piece of journal art.
This unique, handmade journal IS a perfect creative writing journal, with hand-dyed and specialty papers scattered throughout. There are unusual pages, pockets, tags, bookmarks, and a pen included in the built-in pen holder.
The 2 cover pockets hold anything that is 5" X 7": notepad, greeting cards, etc. It comes with a mini file folder novelty writing spot and a writing board to help you have a smoother writing experience on every page.
Three signatures with over 100 writing pages, and many extra writing spots as well. Journal measures 9" high x 7" wide x 3" thick
And it looks magnificent when allowed to simply fall open.
Due to the positive response to my first Masculine Theme Journal • Handmade Writing Journal Flip-Through, mas... I chose to make this one as a step-by-step series of tutorials.
Every journal is a new experience and I am doing lots of things differently than for that first version. You get to watch me figure things out in this series.

I am a classically trained artist of drawing and painting and think of journal making the same as any other composition - I look to create harmony, unity, cohesiveness. When I make a journal I am making an art piece and all the elements need to work together so that I don't make parts and pieces for journals ahead of time, I make pieces for individual journals appropriate for that journal.
I hope you are inspired
