Leave No Trace Spotlight program: Nordhouse Dunes
Leave No Trace selected the 3,500-acre Nordhouse Dunes Wilderness Area as a 2024 Spotlight site. Subaru/Leave No Trace Traveling Team Jeanelle and Rob delivered the three-day Spotlight event.
Day one consisted of an Effective Communication Workshop for 30 Cadillac/Manistee Ranger District staff, partners, and community members. On day two, the Subaru/Leave No Trace Team partnered up with the Forest Service and focused on a popular trailhead and beach access with educational outreach for the visitors. The evening ended with a Campground Amphitheater program.
The final day focused on a stewardship project removing invasive plants with the Cadillac/Manistee Ranger District's Recreation and Botany Technicians at Nordhouse Dunes Wilderness area.
