A Final Try for Snapper Before the Closure.

I had left it a bit late, only a couple of days before the closure, but I wanted to try for a snapper or two.
I didn’t pick a good day. I went out early, but it was too rough to fish Harries, so I went into the Rous for a bit. I only saw a handful of boats early on, so I had the bay largely to myself. At least I did early on. Once the weather improved, that changed, and all the nearby fishing spots were crowded.
I got a bit of live bait and found a spot where I could use it after the weather improved. Even with all the boat traffic that was getting around with the good weather and the looming Snapper season closure, it was a good spot.
It started with an excellent bite. I used 4 live baits and got 4 bites. It was my fault that I couldn’t convert 3 of them. Catching the wrong species for the other one was just happenstance.
