Mortality After Acute Coronary Syndrome
Dr. Sagar Dugani, a physician and assistant professor of medicine in the Division of Hospital Internal Medicine at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN shares insights from his observational study appearing in the June 2023 issue of MCP:IQ&O, where he and the authors evaluated the importance of social determinants of health and the risk of death in patients with acute coronary syndrome. Dr. Dugani concludes that the lack of education and lack of employment are associated with higher mortality and highlights the importance of screening patients for risk of death after acute coronary syndrome.
