WORDS FLY, WRITINGS REMAIN (Sayings and Proverbs)
"Words fly, writings remain." An ancient proverb that affirms the need to have one's rights documented in writing and to be careful what one puts on paper, as it could one day be harmful to us. Therefore, the invitation is to be cautious when writing, because while words are easily forgotten, writings can always form incontrovertible documents. Initially, however, it had the opposite meaning. In fact, the proverb originates from a speech by Gaius Titus to the Roman Senate, in which he praised the role of the orator and his ability to make his words easily reach everyone, unlike written texts. Today, however, this phrase, as we have seen, is an invitation to pay the utmost attention to what one writes.
