Paper Helicopters for Preschoolers
Our little scientists explored air resistance using paper helicopters! 🚁
How does it work? As gravity works to pull the paper helicopter to the ground, air resistance slows it down and stops it from falling quickly. As it falls, the air pushes up against the helicopter's blades, bending them upwards. When air pushes up on the blades, some of that force turns into a sideways or horizontal push. Since there are two blades, this moves them in opposite directions and causes the helicopter to spin. This spinning motion allows the helicopter to fall slowly to the ground!
