EP 5 : FRAMING A MODERN HOUSE - GROUND FLOOR FRAMING COMPLETE - PROCESSING HUGE TREE INTO SLABS
This video follows our new house build in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Stay tuned as we post other videos following me and Izza managing the construction of our house.
In episode 5 I get a little side tracked slabbing the big oak tree we cut down in order to build the house. I document the process of stacking and drying the wood. We hire a portable band saw to come cut a big oak tree into slabs. I stack the slabs with stickers and a tarp to have them air dry.
We do however look at wood framing on the ground floor. The walls are framed up and insulated sheathing is applied. You can see the entire house building process unfold as we keep going in this DIY house build. See the framers erect the walls and install the proper wall framing bracing. We'll keep moving step by step in the construction of this modern house!
