Cripple Creek is based upon an American folk tune, still popular in Bluegrass circles. One should listen to a Bluegrass performance of Cripple Creek (Google it online) and then follow it up with Stringfield's orchestral version. The transformation is amazing.
This extremely rare piece originally appeared on a very early Allegro LP 3150.
