From a 1995 episode of "The Indoor Garden" TV series: Successful care of bromeliads will usually result in one or two new baby plants called "pups" sprouting up from the "mother" plant. They can be separated and placed into their own containers after they are about 3" tall. In this video, Liz and Wally show how to encourage them to bloom once they are mature enough.
