The drive was definitely plug-and-play however after trying to get some statistics on his performance my computer did not recognize the device anymore. After rebooting my computer it recognized the external drive no problem and all was good. I do like the drive’s size and portability…especially with the cord that embeds itself into the body of the drive. However, my difficulties with performance make me question whether this drive needs additional power to perform properly. I did not do any DVD or CD recording which obviously would require more power but I did reach out to the seller for help but I never heard back. All in all I think this drive is a good external portable disk drive. It seems to be of solid construction, extremely portable and well designed...however I will need more time to find all of the bugs (or my incompetence) aside from the ones that I have already run into. I don’t think that buying this drive will be a mistake despite my initial difficulties. I think this is worth purchasing…especially since you can return it if are not satisfied. As a side note and full disclosure…I tried to contact the seller for nearly a week and never heard back from them. This does not give me a lot of trust if I do not hear back after 5 to 7 days however it seems to be a well-designed external CD/DVD Rewritable drive but the company’s support is definitely lacking.
