Hi I'm Pauline Fleming, Chief Inspiration Officer of Leaders Who Care. We provide business coaching, training, mentoring & leadership development services for entrepreneurs, executives & business owners.

Today, I'll be talking about what the process of working with a business coach involves.

From over ten years of experience as a coach I know the first step must be clearing your space. This takes between 1 and 3 months.

A clear desk and a freeing physical space will help you sweep away the mental, emotional, and spiritual "gunk" that is holding you back. Your clutter keeps you stuck in your comfort zone. Yes, even if you're uncomfortable because you're working too much for too little money, this may actually be your comfort zone!

Mentoring and guidance from a dedicated coach empowers you to step into your growth zone. Clearing your space is the first of many courageous actions you'll begin to take - always with the support of your coach. The goal is to reach your courage zone, but your can't leap there immediately. You step into it with one foot, while being fully supported by your coach.
Within 4 to 6 months you're accomplishing goals you hadn't even envisioned before you started coaching.

Amazed by the results, some people might consider completing their work with a business coach after only 6 months. They say things like "Yay, I don't need a coach anymore!" But that's a basic misunderstanding about coaching and its role in your life and business. People often find if they leave coaching at this point, they get frustrated when their new gains are not permanent.
Sustainable results typically occur after 9 to 12 months of coaching.

Coaching is not just about fixing things or solving immediate problems. It's about a dedication to the greater vision and powerful, long-term outcomes: your ongoing prosperity and how you make the world a better place.
