What the world would be like if we weren't pressured to make money all the time?
As far as I know, humans are hardwired to identify patterns and, with those, create new ones. Money, on the other hand, is nothing more than a convention. Maybe a good one at that, but a convention nonetheless.
Unfortunately, it's been a long time since we started measuring success by how much profit, views, or popularity something has sowed, especially so in the digital age (in my humble opinion).
It doesn't make any sense to me. The earliest forms of money appeared around 3000 BCE in Mesopotamia (modern-day Iraq) where the Sumerians used barley as a form of currency. Around the same time, in ancient Egypt, grain was used as a medium of exchange. How can something that is just thousands of years old trump creativity, something as old as time itself?
Our creation became our master.
(I'm by no means saying we should get rid of money, or that it can't be a good incentive. I just think it hurts us more than it helps.)
This is by no means an original idea, but I created this channel precisely to speak about whatever is on my mind, so there you go.
