I got this email in response to my drawing lesson, Just Draw It:
"Ok, I wasn't really sure what to expect from that lesson, but reading many of your posts and emails, I figured it would at least be interesting. I have several half-empty sketchbooks and a shit ton of pencils and pens that I can't get motivated to use because nothing I draw comes out perfect. I'll admit I did watch the video in its entirety before I even considered picking up a pencil. What you said about letting myself have fun with the process of feeling the pencil gliding across the paper kind of clicked, but I still didn't know if I was going to do anything other than finish the video and go to bed. But you gave me homework, so I reluctantly pulled out a pencil and sketchbook. After about 30 seconds of scribbling around the edges of the page, something clicked and I got lost in the process. The next thing I knew I was mapping out the square, the bell, and the birds' bodies. It all just kind of happened, without me putting too much thought into it. And it felt good. I posted it to Instagram and tagged you. It was $5.00 well spent, and I think I might enjoy filling the rest of the sketchbook with similar experiments. Thank you! Jim"
