Nutritional status can play a major role in the development and persistence of chronic pain and can affect long-term outcomes. Good nutrition and supplementation with nutraceuticals should be part of a comprehensive treatment plan for chronic pain. The goal of this lecture will be to give an overview on the relationship between nutrition, nutraceutical and chronic pain.
Christabel Jaiyeola, MD is a current fellow in the Pain Medicine fellowship program at Stanford University. Dr. Jaiyeola obtained her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. She completed residency training in anesthesiology at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, GA. Her interest in pain medicine developed early in medical school through life-changing experiences with patients and community activities. She is committed to a holistic approach to pain management and hopes that her training and professional endeavors can help make a positive impact in the lives of the patients under her care.
