Bringing a YouTube Channel to an End - CPG Rant

Every Frame a Painting recently came to the end of a multi-year run. When they came to the end, they did so not with a bang, but with a whimper: they simply stopped uploading for a year, and later posted a semi-postmortem in a Medium blog post: / postmortem
I think this is the ideal way to end a YouTube channel, but many creators insist this is not appropriate or good. I talk about why ending a series this way may be the healthiest choice.
