Let's take a fun quiz on barometer:

Q1.The mercury barometer was invented by
A1. Evangelista Torricelli - This is the oldest type of the barometer which was invented by physicist Evangelista Torricelli in 1643.

Q2.What unit of measurement does a barometer use?
A2. Atmosphere - A barometer measures pressure in atmospheres.

Q3. Which of the following is the newest type of barometer?
A3. Digital - A digital barometer is the newest barometer technology, compared to the mercury and aneroid barometers that were developed in 1643 and 1844 respectively.

Some facts about barometer:
A barometer is a tool used to measure atmospheric pressure or barometric pressure. They are used by meteorologists to predict changes in the weather.

The unit of measurement is called an atmosphere or bar. An atmosphere (atm) is equal to the average air pressure at sea level at the temperature of 15 degrees celsius. The number of atmospheres drops as altitude increases because the density of air is lower and exerts less pressure.

There are three main types of barometers; they are:
1. Mercury barometers - This is the oldest type of barometer which was invented by physicist Evangelista Torricelli in 1643.
2. Aneroid barometers - The aneroid barometer was invented by French scientist Lucien Vidi in 1844.
3. Digital barometers - The digital barometer is the current most commonly used barometer as it measures and displays data more accurately and quickly than ever before.
