Helium is a chemical element. Its atomic number is 2. Helium is lighter than air. Helium balloons float due to the "law of buoyancy". Helium is a gas at room temperature and has fewer electrons, protons, and neutrons than air. This makes helium lighter than air.
There are three types of buoyancy:
1. Negative buoyancy - It is when the immersed object is heavier than the fluid it is placed in.
2. Neutral buoyancy - It is when the weight of an immersed object is equal to the fluid it is in.
3. Positive buoyancy - It is when the immersed object is lighter than the fluid it is placed in, causing the object to float.
