We Three Kings Modern Folk Quartet
The original Modern Folk Quartet was formed in Honolulu in 1962. Members were Henry Diltz, Chip Douglas, Cyrus Faryar and Stan White. White was later replaced by Jerry Yester. In the ensuing years the group performed for various periods of time, disbanded a few times and reformed a few times, the members working solo careers during the off years. In the late 1980s, shortly before this song was released on their Christmas album, Yester’s brother Jim joined the group, creating the Modern Folk Quintet, although they still preferred to be called the Modern Folk Quartet, or simply, MFQ.
