I have spent so many hours laying awake that I honestly thought a good nights sleep was something other people exeperienced. I spent hours wondering how to stop overthinking at night in order to feel less anxious about tomorrow or worried about the day just gone. When we overthink every detail of our lives, our heads are so busy with negative thoughts that it is challening to find the headspace to unwind and fall asleep. At night I would find myself overthinking every interaction I had in the day and whether I had messed things up! As I grew older this overthinking changed to include the stress of the following day and all of the tasks I had to complete, the difficult conversations I needed to have and the burden was heavy.
I only really slept when I passed out from exhaustion, often sat up in bed with a book clutched loosely in my hands. I would wake up to my alarm, exhausted beyond belief and struggle with the day even more due to my tiredness.
The solution?
Over the years I have built a tookit of methods that allow me to fall asleep quickly in almost every circumstance. I have become highly adept at acknowledging challenges and letting them drift away until I am in a position to tackle them. It has take years but my routine is super easy to follow and should leave you more equipped to sleep properly.

These are the ones I use in my bedroom and allow you to not only choose the brightness but also the temperature and colour. I like the Govee lights as they also have automodes where it will pick appropriate lighting for Film Nights, Romance etc.

For that comfy crackle as you settle down for the night. These are a branch of Yankee Candle so cheaper alternatives are available.

Finding a Mantra that suits is important and whilst they might seem a little new age for you - give it a try. There are many positive effects associated with repeating a Mantra.

My favourite Mindfulness App. I use it a couple of times a day and can always find a session for the challenge I am facing. 2 Weeks Free so try it. I find it one of the best things I can do to recover from stress or anxiety!
