Hey there folks, thanks for checking out this fairly easy solution to frozen water issues! I found this heated dog water bowl at the Co-Op for about half the price it was online and figured I would give it a try. It only used 60 watts of power so it's about on par with what I would need to put into the water bucket with the nipples but isn't going to try and get the water all the way up to 60 degrees. Simply above freezing will do nicely and not use any more power than is needed. After all, it's not like these hens are out there brewing up a nice cup of tea for the morning kick around the compost pile!
