This is going to be my last summer art lesson of the year as we move into Autumn! This Citrus water colour picture makes me think of the Mediterranean and there is no prep involved! We love a no prep art lesson around here. You can use real fruit to get the children drawing real still life, or you can use this video to look at composition, pattern, complimentary colours, how masking fluid works or an introduction to watercolour. There are a selection of topics that this video covers. This Art project can also we spread over 2 or 3 art lessons. I mention how i would structure this in the video. If you do this lesson in one go, it will take about 2-3 hours, plus drying time.
This lesson can be done with 8-11 years old, has no prep and takes a little while to do but i think that the outcome is worth it! I bought my masking fluid from Whsmith's here in the UK but i imagine that you can buy larger bottles in art shops and craft shops like HobbyCraft.
If you enjoyed this video, subscribe and give it a thumbs up. I am here to help with teachers planning and home schooling ideas for parents.
