My Summer Car by Amistech Games, 2016.
Still in active development in 2020, My Summer Car is a 1995 teenage Finnish lifestyle simulator, where you can also hand craft a car, piece-by-piece, whilst doing numerous (often crazy/rude) side activities! Oh and die permanently (savegame is deleted), if you want to play it like that!
Here I'm looking at the rally aspect of the game, as you can tune your car to be rally-spec, then take part in a (currently) 2 stage/day rally event. I need to give a shout out to LoruxTR, whose savegame from RaceDepartment allowed me to save a LOT of time making this video! Also to durkhaz, creator of MSCeditor, which again proved invaluable making this video.
I have noticed that anti-aliasing didn't appear in the video clips I made (using OBS to record and FXAA), so it looks a bit more messy than it did on screen, but perhaps that adds to the charm!
I've included some runs around other parts of the scenery, to make it more interesting. Apart from first-person perspective in-car (with or without wearing a helmet), there's only a drive-by camera view, which (as you can see) is hard to drive whilst using! Note: the final clip is some of the rally event shown on TV, which you can actually watch at home!
