Jet Moto (1997) - PC Futuristic Racing Games
Jet Moto by SingleTrac / Sony, 1997
Only the first Jet Moto game was ported to the PC, before the series became PlayStation exclusive.
You race jet bikes around a selection of circuits, with plenty of real-world adverts whizzing past, occasionally snagging poles, Rocket Jockey-like, to help take tighter turns. A limited boost helps you catch your rivals.
Overall, you can tell this is a PlayStation port, as it's rather sparing on the polygons, with a fair degree of pop-in. It's pretty playable and the music is cool (pretty similar to Rockey Jockey too!).
Handling takes some getting used to, which is why this video only features the first 3 races, and me playing them increasingly badly! I may have a lot of futuristic racing games, but it doesn't mean I'm good at them all :-D
Overall I know many people have a lot of love for the Jet Moto games, but they're a bit too twitchy and technical for me!
