Aji Omnicolour, a bacatuum from Peru, grown these for over 10 years and they never disappoint but never done a video of them so thought would and got my son Jarred to join in

The plants grow amazingly year after year, a bacatuum, they grow sort of gangly but still pretty compact, they get wider than high and can use staking, the pods are around 5-6 cm long and about 1cm wide, they are an amazing producer as can see, the pods start off an ivory white then transition though orange to red

What’s it Like?
How Hot is It?

Crunchy, has a slight tang to it and its slightly sweet, they are really nice.

Heat wise, they have some oomph and hit more on the tongue and front of the mouth but then they hit the back of the throat, the heat hits and stays roughly at that level till the whole mouth has a medium/ upper medium heat glow through it, it’s a deepish burn with a slight sharpness, perfect cooking chilli.

All round great plant, grows pretty easily, great producer and the pods would go really well pickled as that would complement the tanginess, or as a powder, perfect for cooking, great heat level
