Adolescence is an exciting developmental period that includes significant psychological, biological and neurobiological changes. This talk will review current science about the adolescent brain, how it relates to behavior, and how normative changes in the brain are influenced by the environment. Galván will highlight research showing that the development of the brain is
influenced by multiple factors and discuss the implications this body of work has had on policy and programs relevant to young people. The talk will close with a discussion of how society can best support adolescents to ensure that they thrive as they transition to adulthood.
