Considering all the discussion about how wind and solar are contributing more and more to generate electricity, would you be surprised to know that % of electricity generated by coal and natural gas is higher today than it was forty years ago. Although developed nations (including Europe and US) are increasing their reliance on wind and solar at a great cost, most developing nations are increasing their reliance of coal and natural gas. With increasing % of electricity generated by developing nations, it is not a surprise that higher percentage is generated by coal and natural gas.
