Norway's Energy Nirvana
Norway is hailed as one of the most aggressive countries in fighting climate change. 83 % of the cars sold in Norway are electric cars and it produces almost 100 % of the electricity from renewable resources. Most people believe that once all the cars are electrified and all the electricity is generated by renewable resources, fossil fuel consumption will go down significantly.
Examining Norway we learned that the reality is otherwise. Norway's fossil fuel consumption has not declined significantly over the last 25 years. Further, it sells 1400 million barrels of equivalent oil to the rest of the world creating 600 times more CO2 emissions than what it saves by selling EV's
