From a distance this fallen tree in the Sequoia National Park looks like any other fallen tree in any other forest. It is only when you get up close and realise that you can walk through the hollow log without bending your head at all that you begin to realise just how huge these trees are!
For those who might wish to emulate my walk, the fallen sequoia is just down hill from the General Grant, the third largest tree in the world (by volume, as the information boards are careful to note).
