Thanks so much for joining us, and our very own developer Sruli Rapps! We talked all about our brand new Wix integration, and how all that hard work came out in a seamless, lovely app for you to use on your Wix sites.
Sruli has been developing for Mimi for several years, and his typical day usually starts VERY early in the morning, and involves much computer and coffee shop time. His list of most notables include an upcoming Salesforce integration, those Fancy Fields in your web forms: http://help.madmimi.com/fancy-web-for...
and assisting with the WordPress integration: https://wordpress.org/plugins/mad-mim...
As the Mad Mimi Web Form Master, it makes sense that Sruli was the one to head up the Wix integration for adding a perfect signup form to your Wix site. Before this integration, you could include the Plain Embed code from your Mad Mimi web form, in an HTML box on your Wix site. But there wasn't any easy way to customize or change any settings. Now you can use the same drag-and-drop, no-code-required approach that you're already familiar with in Wix, and get your Mad Mimi signup form published with ease!
Once you add the signup form to your site, you can drag it into any place you want. You can also resize the form using the drag handles, to make it fit into your layout perfectly.
Sruli demo'd the Wix integration for us, walking through everything from adding the app to your site, and connecting the app to your Mad Mimi account, and customizing everything you might want to change. He walked through the three sections of settings, which include Header, Form, and Colors.
You can also see a step-by-step instruction doc for setting up the Wix app, here: http://help.madmimi.com/mad-mimi-wix-...
What makes the Wix integration so seamless is the ability to hop right into your actual Mad Mimi web form settings, right from your Wix interface. This means that you can customize the fields and lists for the form, as well as the more advanced settings, like custom landing pages: http://help.madmimi.com/webform-landi...
By default Wix will create a brand new web form in your Mad Mimi account, called Wix Webform. And that web form will be placing people into a new list called Wix Signups. You can change any of these titles, and also choose a signup form that you've already created in Mad Mimi.
So, why should you use this integration? Well, for one it's super simple and very easy to use. It's so easy, why not use it. You MUST be capturing signups from your site -- otherwise you're missing out on capturing the email address of people who are interested in your content. And because this is so easy, you have an excellent opportunity to segment your signups by where they are signing up -- you can have a different form, connected to a different list, for each page of your site.
You can use this integration on the free Mad Mimi account, so nothing is holding you back!
Not all integrations are as smooth as this Wix integration is. Sruli told us that this integration introduced a new authentication method for app-to-app authorization. Most integrations you need to use your API key, however here with Wix, we're using what's called an 'authentication token' in order to create a little handshake between the apps.
The Wix integration went through about 7 months of Wix marketplace authorization and testing. When developing in other people's markets, they do get to call the shots. However, Sruli had a great product, and it made it through and is available live for you!
Now, if you have an idea for a great Mad Mimi integration, just let us know! Plenty of our integrations are not built at all, by us. Someone just had a great idea, and they built it. Just let us know if you have something, or even just an idea for an integration. We're always open to new opportunities.
If you have any other questions about anything, just reach out -- we're all available for you: [email protected] and [email protected] and [email protected]
