Blue Lock's third selection starts with a very concrete problem: our cast is set to face off against Japan’s national under-20 team with only strikers. In other words, Blue Lock has to adapt to unforeseen circumstances. That brings us to the Third Selection, that serves to test the Blue Lockers' ability to assert themselves and to co-exist, in other words, to adapt. In that light, it also makes sense why Reo Mikage is used as a secondary POV character next to protagonist Yoichi Isagi: because Reo is the character who must struggles to accept change. So as they face off against the top six of Rin Itoshi, Ryusei Shidou, Tabito Karasu, Eita Otoya, Kenyu Yukimiya and Seishiriou Nagi, they learn to act on reflex or the Chamaeleon Style that prove respective ability to adapt and even change their entire thought process.
