DRACULA MAKE DRINK! A Halloween Cocktail - THE VAMP!
Good evening. Tis' that time of year again. But this year the tables have turned. I've always said I've been a bartender for a very long time. But I never really told you the truth about how long. Seems like an eternity. It may surprise you who I really am. I sometimes go by "The Impaler"
In the true Halloween spirit of Bar Talk & Cocktails, I present to you Dracula and my original bloody good cocktail - THE VAMP! This year I do all the biting.

THE VAMP
--------------------
IN A SHAKER COMBINE AND MUDDLE:
1 INCH PIECE FRESH GINGER (CUT INTO PIECES)
1/2 OZ TARRAGON SYRUP
--------------------
ADD:
1.5 OZ VODKA
1/2 OZ COINTREAU
3/4 OZ LEMON JUICE
1/2 OZ POMEGRANATE JUICE
--------------------
TOSS IN SOME ICE AND GIVE IT A QUICK SHAKE
--------------------
DOUBLE STRAIN INTO A CHILLED COCKTAIL GLASS.
--------------------
GARNISH WITH CANDIED GINGER AND A SPRIG OF TARRAGON.
TARRAGON SIMPLE SYRUP
--------------------
STIR TOGETHER IN A SMALL SAUCEPAN
3/4 CUP WATER
1/3 CUP TURBINADO CANE SUGAR
2 TBSP OR MORE CHOPPED FRESH TARRAGON LEAVES
--------------------
BRING TO A SIMMER OVER MEDIUM HEAT. KEEP STIRRING.
--------------------
WHEN THE FIRST BUBBLES APPEAR, REDUCE HEAT TO MEDIUM-LOW AND SIMMER GENTLY
FOR 5 MINUTES.

TAKE IT OFF THE STOVE, ADD 1 PINCH SEA SALT, PUT A LID ON IT AND LET IT INFUSE FOR
A FEW HOURS.
--------------------
STRAIN INTO AN AIRTIGHT BOTTLE. KEEPS UP TO 1 WEEK, CHILLED.
