Orange and Black cocktail - Drinking and decorating for Halloween
Decorating. I hate decorating. My crew insists we need to decorate for Halloween. So if I have to decorate, I have to have a drink. Something I came up with called an Orange and Black. Perfect to help me get through this. Stay tuned we're just getting started.

IN A SHAKER GLASS COMBINE:

2 0Z - FRESH ORANGE JUICE
1/2 OZ - VANILLA SIMPLE SYRUP
1.5 OZ - JOHNNIE WALKER BLACK LABEL
1/2 OZ - APRICOT BRANDY
2 DASHES - WALNUT BITTERS (ANGOSTURA ALSO WORKS)

TOSS IN SOME ICE AND GIVE IT A GOOD SHAKE
--------------------
DOUBLE STRAIN INTO A FROZEN COCKTAIL GLASS
--------------------
SPRITZ SOME BLACK SAMBUCA OVER TOP AND GARNISH WITH
AN ORANGE TWIST
VANILLA SIMPLE SYRUP
--------------------
1 CUP - WATER
1/2 CUP SUGAR
2 - VANILLA BEANS (SLICED & SCRAPED)
(OR 6 TSP. - VANILLA EXTRACT)
--------------------
BRING WATER TO A BOIL, ADD SUGAR AND VANILLA - STIRRING CONSTANTLY
--------------------
WHEN SUGAR DISSOLVES COMPLETELY, COOL SYRUP TO ROOM TEMPERATURE

STORE IN AIRTIGHT JAR FOR 1 WEEK
