Chasing Shadows // A Harry Styles Love Story Chapter Two
I stood over the toilet. My vision became blurred from the tears, I thought I was going to be sick.
"Mackenzie?" I heard Alyssa call.
"Yep" I replied, trying to sound as casual as I could.
"Are you okay? Why did you rush off?" She asked.
I opened the cubicle door and stepped out, walking over to the sinks and mirrors. I looked at myself, my cheeks were red, my eyes were glassy and my face looked like it was trying hard not to scrunch up. Alyssa came and stood next to me.
"You like Harry, don't you" She said quietly, so none of the other girls could hear.
"I don't know, I don't think so" I replied, sliding down the wall and sitting on the floor. Alyssa came and sat next to me.
"Why are you crying then?" She said, turning her head to look at me.
I shrugged, facing forwards. "I don't know" I said quietly, wiping a tear that fell from my eye.
Alyssa wrapped her arms around me, and gave me a nice warm hug. I must say, that did cheer me up a little.
"Do you wanna go now? I'm not planning on spending my e entire lunch here" She giggled, standing up and holding out her arm for me to hook onto.
"Yeah, I do" I giggled, standing up, hooking onto it and leaving the bathroom.
"What happened?" Asked Niall as him, Zayn, Liam and Louis all rushed over to us.
"I felt a little sick that's all" I said quietly.
"Are you sure your okay?" Asked Liam, patting my back as I walked past.
"I'm fine, honestly" I replied, forcing a smile and taking a sip out of my water bottle. As we turned the corner, I almost ran into Harry.
"Hey, can I talk to you Mackenzie?" He asked me.
I looked up at him. "Why" I said.
"Just, please" He replied.
"Fine" I said simply, walking with him to the bench.
"That, wasn't what it looked like" He said, turning to face Lindsay and her friends.
"It sure was" I replied, looking down at the floor.
"No, it wasn't. She came on to me" He sighed.
"Oh, why don't I believe you" I said, looking up at him.
"Look, Mackenzie. You came at the wrong time. She came onto me. I didn't know you were going to rush off anyway!" He cried, shrugging his shoulders.
"Oh, don't blame me" I said defensively.
"I'm not blaming you, I didn't know you were going to get upset about it. I'm really sorry" He said, looking me in the eyes.
I turned away. "I wasn't upset" I mumbled.
"Oh come on, why else would you of rushed off like that" He said smoothly, giggling a little.
"I felt sick" I said a little firmer.
"Okay, okay. But please, I don't like her. She came onto me" He said, grabbing hold of my hand.
I looked at it. "So why did it take Louis to get your attention, we stood looking at you for about 5 seconds before you pulled away" I said, trying to hold back the tears again.
"It didn't, I was in shock, she just literally sat by me and smashed our lips together. Please believe me, I wouldn't lie to you Mackenzie" He said desperately, looking me in the eyes and giving my hand a little squeeze.
His eyes were becoming glassy, he bit his lip and loosened his grip a little, looking down.
"Fine" I said quietly, pushing my hair behind my ear and standing up.
"Great, thanks" He said, walking beside me over to the others.
"Kiss and Make up?" Louis joked.
"Make up, yes" I replied, going to stand next to Alyssa.
"Well, we let's go sit on the field" Liam said, skipping over to the path and over to the field.
Every lunch we sat on the field, there wasn't many people down there and it was also a lot of fun. It was the best part of the day, all lessons were boring.
After we'd all approached our usual spot by the tree, the grass was wet so we sat on our jumpers.
"So that's what that is?" Liam giggled.
"RAWWWWRRR" Louis screamed, tickling Harry's sides. Harry immediately fell to the floor in hysterics, trying to kick Louis off but was too weak to even try.
"Mack-mack-Mackenzie!" He managed to scream, as he struggled and wriggled on the floor.
"Okay" I giggled, tickling Louis and making him roll off Harry in hysterics. Harry edged away slowly, fixing his hair and pulling his shirt down.
"Okay, your 6th formers! Grow up!" Squealed Mrs Prudence from across the field. I edged away slowly sitting next to Harry.
"Thanks for ruining the fun!" Louis shouted over, making us all laugh,
"Shut up! She's like the strictest teacher in school" Zayn laughed.
"The bell's gonna ring soon" Niall sighed, putting his arm around Alyssa.
And as he said it, the bell did ring.
"Well, fun spoiled" Louis sighed, standing up, picking up his jumper and heading toward the school.
