Chasing Shadows // A Harry Styles Love Story Chapter Eight
So after we'd made our pancakes and ate them, we head outside to the park.
"It's freezing" I shivered, skipping off in front of Harry.
"It's almost summer too" He said, shoving his hands into his pockets.
"Summer, yay" I sighed.
"What?" He asked.
I rolled my eyes, and carried on walking in front of him.
"Please Mackenzie, tell me what's wrong, your making me upset" Harry cried.
"I'm fine" I replied.
"No your not!" He sighed.
"I am, look, last day together, come on" I said, pulling his arm. He happily wrapped his arm around me and we walked.
"Hiya guys!" Louis shouted, running over to us.
"Hey" Harry replied.
As it edged closer to the end of the day, I sat on the hill with Harry, the others were messing around by us.
"I'm going to miss you" He said.
"Me too" I replied, snuffling hard and wiping the tears that fell from my eyes.
"Don't cry" He said, sounding like he was too. He cuddled up even closer to me, and slipped his hand into mine.
"It's kinda hard not to" I replied.
"I know, I'm sorry" He said, sniffling and swallowing hard. Harry never, ever cried in front of me. The only time I've actually saw him cry is when we were younger and I used to take his ice cream.
"I love you best friend" I cried, letting it all out onto his chest.
"I love you too" He said. Then he started shaking, I looked up to see what he was doing, and then I realized, he was crying too.
"Harry" I said softly, hugging him tight.
"I feel terrible, I left it this late, I'm such a horrible guy" He cried.
"No your not, no matter how late or how early you tell me, it won't reverse anything, we've spent a lot of time together, and I'm glad I ended up having you as a boy best friend, I'll come to all your shows when your famous okay? I'll be there" I said.
"You can make me feel better" He said, laughing a little.
"I know" I giggled, looking down at my damp shirt and laughing.
"I am going to miss you guys you know" Niall said.
"Yeah" I sighed.
"Me too" Zayn added.
"Well, I have to go, I guess this is it guys" Harry said, glancing over at me.
"Yes" I said, a little weaker. He held out his arms, I broke down once again, I bet I looked so stupid right now.
"I'll see you again" He whispered in my ear.
"I know" I whispered back, then pulled away.
"Bye guys" Louis said, giving me and Erica both a quick hug.
After we'd said all of our depressing goodbyes, me and Erica made our way home.
"Niall actually left me, It's over, we're done, he said we're still friends, I can't even-" I interrupted her.
"Don't work yourself up, did you see his face? He loves you Erica, but you can't not see each other, it's for the best, I'm telling you" I said, giving her a quick hug.
"I guess, how about you and Harry?" She asked.
I shrugged. "We're meant to be friends"
"Are you serious? I saw you two on the hill, your perfect for each other, I mean, Harry cried. He cried. He actually cried. That's rare, he likes you, a lot" She said.
"No, look. He's obviously doesn't if every time I'm not with him he's eating the face off of another girl, or if he hasn't actually asked me yet. We're friends and that's all we'll ever be" I said, letting a tear roll down my cheek.
"Okay, fine. But most guys do that to make you jealous, or to see if you get angry or notice. And, he probably hasn't asked you because your too close, he maybe doesn't want to ruin the friendship. Kenzie, you can see it in his eyes. You can see it in yours, you click, it's perfect" She smiled. ~
"He's gone now anyway, guess we have to start watching the X-Factor now eh?" I giggled, nudging her lightly.
"Yeah, I guess. Starts next week, that's when they'll be on T.V, my house?" She smiled.
"Sure" I laughed, feeling a little better.
