Excel Data Tools - Remove Duplicates - Consolidate - Text to Columns - Flash Fill
This video provides an overview of what was covered through an in-class exercise. Data were obtained through the Philadelphia DAO Dashboard (link below) pertaining to Weekly Charges based on Census Tract. In short, few local jurisdictions make court data publicly available - Philly being one of the best I have seen for this on a number of fronts (check them out). The video provides examples of Flash Fill, Text to Columns, Concatenate (again), Remove Duplicates, and Consolidate. For those interested, in the last part I went through how to download and import a Custom Region for Philadelphia Census Tracts.
