Beyond Crime Data: CDC PLACES Local Data for Better Health - Zip Code Example (ZCTA)
There is a world of data that crime research does/could/should use to assist in understanding crime occurrence. This is the first video of a new playlist on other types of data. The video introduces the CDC PLACES Health Data that are available at multiple spatial units: County, Place, Zip, and Census Tract. The video provides a brief overview of what is available online (handy tools) as well as a way to filter the data to export and display in Excel. There will be additional videos on this dataset at the County and Census Tract level to walk through once you have the data in Excel, how to limit to certain states or counties of interest.
