Squinting and Scribbling can help you capture reality. If you use eyeglasses, take them off. Try to focus on the Light and Shadows of your subjects. After making black and white photographs for many years and searching for detail. I now realize that blurriness can be the sharpest way to focus.
I searched for detailed beauty under the microscope and even used an 8x10 negative camera. Many of my images, published in my book, "Micro Art" (Pelican Publishing Co) Now out of print. And sporting a neckwear line are the products of my love for picuring the natural world in great detail. I also used a camera obcura to draw microorganisms, when photomicroscopy was difficult.
I am not discovering something new. Many impressionists used this technique in order to capture the fast moving world around them. I don't think this was something they often mentioned but you can see it in their beautiful work.
