Sipp: Drink & Explore iPhone App Video Review
Whether you like to wind down with a fancy cocktail or you’re looking for exciting new drink ideas to show off to friends, Sipp: Drink & Explore offers something for everyone. Created by Moktech (Pty) Ltd, this useful app is worth checking out.
Personally, I have an extensive home bar, but I’m not an experienced bartender in any way, shape, or form. As a result, most of my homemade creations are basic. Sipp: Drink & Explore is perfect for someone like me because it gives me an opportunity to learn about different cocktails and how to make them.
Upon downloading the app, the first thing I noticed about Sipp: Drink & Explore is that it requires you to have a subscription in order to use the app. You can sign up for a free trial, but after that you’ll need to pay at least $10/month to take advantage of it.
Sipp: Drink & Explore sports a layout that’s very easy to navigate. You can check out the drink of the day, easily search for cocktail recipes, see your favorite drinks, and even check out a handy map that’ll show you where the closest hotspots are.
Not only is Sipp: Drink & Explore useful for finding new drinks, but the app aims to teach you how to make them perfectly. You can follow on-screen text instructions, or you can check out incredibly useful YouTube videos embedded in the app.
Sipp: Drink & Explore is both a learning tool and a helpful drink library. It’s a great way to discover new drinks you might not know about, as well as the way to make them.
From drink ratings to interesting backstories on the history of each cocktail, there are quite a few useful features that surprised me. Personally, I like the fact that you can save drinks as favorites for quick and easy access.
One feature I wish Sipp: Drink & Explore included is a bar inventory management tool where you could list the ingredients you have on hand and the app will show you a list of drinks you can make. This would make it much easier to navigate the extensive list of recipes in the app.
Sipp: Drink & Explore is available to download from the App Store for free, but as I mentioned above you need a subscription in order to take advantage of all that the app has to offer. Right now the price seems a bit steep for what the app offers, but I'm sure the developers will continue to improve it over time.
Overall, I think Sipp: Drink & Explore is off to a great start and it’s worth looking into if you want to learn how to make famous cocktails at home or explore bars and restaurants in your area.
