Sometimes the best game you can play is one that's incredibly simple and straightforward. When your brain needs a break but you still want to be engaged, few games are better than bingo.
Bingo Play, created by ABCiSoft, is a free bingo game for iPad and iPhone that will keep you entertained for quite a while, especially if you're on a lucky winning streak.
Personally I enjoy bingo games, mainly because they're great for winding down. Paying attention to numbers and marking them off on a card doesn't take a lot of effort, which is great for people who are looking for a casual game to play.
Bingo Play doesn't have flashy graphics or complex menus, making it perfect for those who just want to open the game and get right to playing. You're able to wager coins (you start with 6) and you can adjust the number of cards you'd like to play, as well as how many coins you'd like to bet. The maximum number of cards you can play is 4.
I found Bingo Play to be very easy on the eyes, which is another reason why it's a mellow game to play. As the round is progressing you can easily see which numbers have been called, as well as how many numbers are remaining. I really like that the board is color-coded, as well, because it makes it very easy to locate numbers quickly.
A consequence of being such a simple game is that Bingo Play doesn't have many fancy features. One thing it does include is the option to enable auto daub and fast play for a mere 2 coins per game.
This means that the game will speed up quite a bit and you don't have to worry about keeping up across multiple cards; the game will automatically mark off numbers for you.
Bingo Play also allows you to control the volume of your game and optionally mute number calls while the game is in progress. Honestly I found that the audible number calls were very helpful with tracking everything.
As with most games that involve some sort of virtual credit, Bingo Play starts players off with a fairly small amount of coins. Unless you're lucky and you win your wager back (and then some), chances are you'll end up watching ads to earn coins. However, you can choose to acquire additional coins via in-app purchases.
Overall, Bingo Play is a very entertaining bingo game that doesn't feature fancy animations or complex gameplay. It's the ideal game for anyone who just wants to play a few rounds of bingo from the comfort of their iPad or iPhone.
