Oil oxidation is the primary reason why you should or even must change oil in your internal combustion engine once a year. This is the process that starts once the oil is in contact with oxygen and is under high temperatures. And this inevitably happens inside the engine.
After about 1 year, oil is oxidized to the extent when it can’t lubricate your engine anymore. This is not just bad but catastrophic for any engine and may lead to pretty quick consequences. Of course, changing oil once a year is important even if the mileage within this year is less than 5,000 miles.
In this video, I will tell you more about oxidation of oil and also how you can control its effect on the engine. If you liked the video, subscribe to my channel and get updated whenever I post something new!
