A lot of car manufacturers now claim that the transmission fluid is there for the entire lifespan of the automatic transmission. Well, if you consider 100,000 miles or 160,000 kilometers to be “the entire lifespan”, then yes, it can last that long.
But if you don’t want to spend 5-7 thousand to replace your transmission in a quite young and good-to-go car, it’s better to change that fluid once every 3-5 years or once every 40-60 thousands miles, whatever comes first.
