Transmission adaptation reset after fluid change? Scam!..
Unfortunately, car mechanics aren’t always fair with their clients. Transmission adaptation reset is rather a scam that mechanics keep making up. It may be useful in those cases only when there is an issue with the transmission or the fluid hasn’t been changed for 200K miles.
But if someone tells you that you need to pay several hundred for adaptation reset just after fluid change, just run away and find a better mechanic. This is a completely useless procedure for your car and you will just waste money.
