It seems some people would stay with us forever. And yet, life sometimes reminds us that all good things must come to an end.
My grandfather was a peaceful man. I've never seen him sad or angry. He was a loving and giving human being, was sweet to everyone, and had a great sense of humor and self-derision.
He was an accordion player (though I actually never heard him play), hence the first part of the track.
This composition is about the void left in our hearts when a loved one leaves us. This was the second time I had the difficult task to write some music for funerals. Emotions are highly exacerbated once I start putting notes on the piano roll, and the music quickly starts flowing. I feel like this is the most beautiful tribute I can pay him.
Ta mémoire continuera de m'accompagner.
Au revoir Papy.
