ciao. . . / a one shot {part 2}
Both teenagers were at the airport. Both had suitcases. The girl was nervous and ecstatic. The boy was annoyed and restless. Finally, the intercom buzzed and announced the embarkation wing. Jamie grabbed his hand and they hurried on to the plane.
"Shit" He pronounced
"What's the matter?"
"I forgot my passport at the front counter. I better go get it"
"Oh... well, I'll just wait" She suggested
"NO! um, I mean, save us some good seats. I won't be long" He winked at her once more and she smiled.
"Whatever you see babycakes" She squeezed his hand, released it, and went through the corridor. Jeremy sighed in relief and ran to get himself a coffee.
Fifteen minutes later, Jamie noticed Jeremy's absence. She gasped when she heard the pilot prepare for take off. She then looked out the window. As the lights in the plane asked for the passengers to buckle up for takeoff, Jeremy was standing by the airport window, sipping a coffee.
She gasped in horror and tried some kind of sign language with him. He merely flipped her off and waved goodbye. The plane was slowly moving and as they were leaving, Jeremy took a quick moment to tell her to check her bag.
She raised her eyebrows and rummaged through her belongings. She took the envelope where both tickets were encaissed and found a small crumbled paper. She flipped it over and read the note.
"A one-way ticket out of my life. Ciao"
And with that, she started hyperventilating. All the while, Jeremy was sipping his coffee and humming a playful tune.
