Liliana Colanzi, assistant professor of Romance studies in the College of Arts & Sciences at Cornell University, discusses how well-suited speculative fiction is for addressing issues at the nanoscale, including radiation poisoning from medical equipment and nuclear power plants, using her own work and that of other Latin American writers as examples.
Prof. Colanzi’s presentation was part of the College of Arts & Sciences’ “Arts Unplugged: Science of the Very, Very Small” event that explored some of the exciting innovations in nanoscale science and their ramifications for human society.
