Lyrae Van Clief-Stefanon, associate professor of literatures in English in the College of Arts & Sciences at Cornell University, reads her poem “Solace” and discusses how her poetry draws inspiration from science and nanotechnology, as well as how her own sickle cell mutation informs her work.

Prof. Van Clief-Stefanon’s presentation was part of the College of Arts & Sciences’ “Arts Unplugged: Science of the Very, Very Small” event that explored some of the exciting innovations in nanoscale science and their ramifications for human society.
