Happy Seeder | Crop Residue Management | Parali Prabandhan

It is a common belief among farmers that burning crop residues such as stubble, straw, or straw in the fields can eliminate various weeds and pests, but in reality, burning crop residues is far more harmful.

Happy Seeder

With the Happy Seeder, wheat can be easily sown without burning the stubble (stubble) of paddy and wheat harvested by a combine harvester. Thus, by sowing wheat without plowing (geri tillage), farmers can save between ₹800 and ₹1000.

The estimated cost of a Happy Seeder is approximately ₹75,000 to ₹150,000. It can be operated with a tractor with 50 or more horsepower (hp) and has a capacity of 0.3-0.4 hectares per hour.

Adverse effects of agricultural crop residue burning
Various nutrients found in the soil, such as carbon, nitrogen, sulfur, etc., are lost.
Soil organic matter is lost.
Various valuable organisms found in the soil are destroyed.
Aerosols are released, causing air pollution.
Many harmful gases are emitted.
