let the world come crashing down - Noah Pacheco (Original)
2021: One song per month.
Written, recorded, produced in June 2021.

A song about the end of the world.

Writer's Note:
There comes a certain point where "a lot" becomes "too much." For some, that point is shallow and arrives early. For others, "too much" is quite far in the distance. But we all have our limits. This song is meant to draw attention to the compounding issues we face as a species while also addressing the variance in limits we all experience. For some, the world is about to end and their optimism has been lost. For others, the world ended long ago and tools have been developed to combat the depressive catastrophe. It is the job of those with experience in this field to guide the others.

LYRICS:
Burn down the city, cut the chains.
Burn down the bridges and whatever else remains.
Flood the streets with people fighting.
Flood the streets with blood and rioting.
Flood the rest and watch it all sink into flames.

So let the world come crashing down.
Where heavy heads will wear the crown.
This is my empire.
This is home that I have found.
So let the world come crashing down.
I'm used to it.

Cut down the forest in the South.
Melt all the glaciers North as well.
Carve initials in the bark.
Keep the oceans in the dark.
Tomorrow may still come but not without a cell.

So let the world come crashing down.
Where heavy heads will wear the crown.
This is my empire.
This is home that I have found.
So let the world come crashing down.
I'm used to it.

Come on, come in. Come one, come all.
There's plenty room within these old oppressive walls.
Blame the children, blame the church.
Blame the devil, blame the Earth.
Blame yourself if you've got blame left in your vault.

So let the world come crashing down.
Where heavy heads will wear the crown.
This is my empire.
This is home that I have found.
So let the world come crashing down.
I'm used to it.
